Ada

I walk, run or ride my bicycle up Ada Avenue nearly every day. The street is a mixture of characterless new housing developments-- townhouses, condos and the like-- and, at the southern end, some older single family homes. Though I noticed long ago that there are a lot of Japanese names on mail boxes at that far end, I've never paid much attention to the houses themselves. It's the flora that gets my attention, and the occasional cat or duck. It was only on my walk today that I noticed first a stone lantern and some bamboo. Then looking up I discovered, right there in my neighborhood, an entire modern Japanese style house. Imagine that.
