An Observation

I've been in Thailand for the past month or so. This is my seventh visit to the Kingdom (!). The first was back in 1995. Of all the obvious changes this "emerging economy" has undergone in the past thirteen years, the most noticeable (to me) has to be the increasing size of its inhabitants. Back in the 90's, it was a rarity to see overweight people; today it is commonplace. Of course this physical growth has coincided with economic.

Perhaps most disturbing is the number obese children. Someone in India once told me that most Indians don't believe it's possible for a child to weigh too much. I hope the Thais don't think similarly.
